Imperfect Mirrors (2025)

Materials: mixed media on paper. Book made by Lamali Paris using ethically-sourced materials. Paper stock made in India using a combination of grape fiber and cotton. Blank notebook purchased at Hayward Gallery bookshop in London. Used media includes various inks, pigments, and collaged materials. Approx. 360 pages. 

This notebook was created for “FOR REAL FOR REAL,” an exhibition organized by the Racial Imaginary Institute (@theracialimaginary) and presented at DAAD Berlin (@daad_artists). The exhibition was curated by Claudia Rankine, John Lucas, Russell Salmon, and Mathias Zeiske, and ran from May 15 to July 27, 2025, and featured work from a stunning range of visual artists and writers, including William Kentridge, Kara Walker, Tiphanie Yanique, Jericho Brown, and many others.
